Alanna of Trebond

Alanna of Trebond with Moonlight the horse and Faithful the cat. Okay, I admit it, the books are a bit cheesy. But I adore them. I discovered them in my early childhood and they've kept me going through the hard times.

So anyway, I've noticed a growing number of Alanna fans recently...but trying to draw her as beautiful, but also a bit manly is kinda hard. :/ I mean...she did have to pass for a boy.

EDIT: Almost every time I get on DevArt, I have new people who have favorited this painting...and yes, it is a watercolor. Right now, when times have become so very tough for me, nothing has made me happier. Again, Alanna gives me inspiration to keep on; tough it out. The honest to gawd paper has been lost in two moves, along with much of my other art, much to my disappointment. Still, I have memories to work off of and this record of its existence.
